Is there any way to keep my piercing once in the Navy?

I've had my nipple pierced for about 6 years and it's never been infected. I took it out while I was at MEPS of course, but I wanted to know if there's any way that I can keep it. I'm in DEP right now and have a small stainless steel barbell, but is there any way I can just use a clear/nude retainer in order to keep it during and after basic?
