Does Petter Pettigrew (Wormtail) live in the film version of the Deathly Hallows?

In the book, Wormtail is abut to kill Harry in the Malfoy Manor dungeon, but then he shows remorse and his silver hand kills it's master, so how come in the film Wormtail gets knocked out when he goes into the dungeons, and then is just left there? Does this mean he lives to see the battle of Hogwarts etc in the movie versions? Just wondered if anyone knew.
