Is there an alternitive to Windows movie maker?

I'm trying to make a youtube video using music and downloaded Tv shows from my computer. The only problem is, when I try to import the tv episode to windows movie maker to select clips, movie maker closes and comes up with some DEP message. Are there any other good programs that do the same as windows movie maker but without the problems. Thanks
